sprouting green gram/Mung been

Sprouting is very simple.We can do it quiet often at home and include in our diet. keep in mind soak only half the quantity of the mung been you want.Once you soak and sprout they almost become double the quantity.
wash and soak the needed green gram/Mung bean over night  in water ( atleast 8 to 10 hours).

Drain the water and let them sit in colander for few minutes.

Wet the cheese cloth and squeeze the excess water.Add the drained mung been.Tie a knot and hang them for few minutes for the excess water to drain, Later place the tied knot in a bowl and keep it in a dark place, where they don't get disturbed.

Some people keep in oven( don't turn on the oven).I keep them inside the kitchen cabinet.Let them sit for 24 hours.After a day when you see, the would have sprouted very well.
Now you can use this sprouted mung bean in variety of dishes and it is very good for health.



I have not tried the casserol method for sporuting, will try and post it soon.
